Terms of Use

The Service

OpenSG lets golfers track their shots by GPS and see their Strokes Gained. We offer the Service on both a free and a paid subscription basis, as described below. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

Free and paid plans

You can use OpenSG for free, subject to monthly usage limits (for example, a limited number of rounds and advanced green reads each calendar month, and satellite maps limited to your home course). Free-plan limits reset on the first day of each calendar month; unused allowances do not carry over to the next month.

A paid subscription removes these limits and unlocks the full Service. We currently offer three plans — a weekly pass, a monthly subscription, and an annual subscription. The price and billing period for each plan are shown at the time of purchase. The weekly pass is a one-time purchase that does not automatically renew; the monthly and annual subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period until you cancel.

Paid subscribers also receive higher priority when we consider which new features to build. This is a prioritization of feedback only — it is not a guarantee that any requested feature will be built, and no feature is promised.

Purchases, renewal, and cancellation

Subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store are billed to your Apple ID account and managed through your device's subscription settings; the App Store's terms and pricing apply to those purchases.

• Automatic renewal. Monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically for the same period, at the then-current price, unless you cancel before the end of the current period.
• Cancel anytime. You can cancel at any time. Cancellation stops the next automatic renewal so you are not billed for the following period. For App Store subscriptions, cancel through your Apple ID subscription settings at least 24 hours before the period ends.
• Access until the period ends. When you cancel, your paid access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then reverts to the free plan.
• No refunds for unused time. Payments are non-refundable, and we do not provide refunds or credits for partially used or unused subscription periods, except where required by law. Refund requests for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under its policies.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account. OpenSG is intended for users aged 18 and over. You agree to provide accurate information and to use the Service only for lawful purposes.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account and its associated data from your account settings. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you have an active monthly or annual subscription, you cannot delete your account while it is running — because paid time is non-refundable and your access continues until the end of the period you have paid for. To delete in that case, cancel the subscription (which stops the next renewal), keep using the Service until the current period ends, and then delete your account. The one-time weekly (vacation) pass does not prevent deletion — it does not renew, so you can delete at any time, forfeiting any remaining days. Free-plan users can also delete at any time.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service — for example, by attempting to access it in unauthorized ways, interfering with its operation, reselling it, or reverse-engineering it beyond what the law permits. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Your data and content

You retain your golf data. Our handling of your information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. GPS distances, Strokes-Gained results, and other outputs are estimates and may contain errors; do not rely on them where accuracy is critical. To the maximum extent permitted by law, OpenSG will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Boulder County, Colorado, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

Changes

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "last updated" date, and your continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
